Death With Dignity?

Tomorrow, the Victorian Parliament will debate a bill to legalize euthanasia (so called voluntary assisted dying). It is claimed that those approaching the end of their life should be able to end it to save themselves any unnecessary suffering – it is claimed that they should be allowed to die with dignity – but when did suicide become dignified?
